C Programming for Microcontrollers

C Programming for Microcontrollers Smiley Micros || ISBN: 0-9766822-0-6 || Author: Joe Pardue || English || PDF || 300 Pages || 8.92 MB

Introduction

C Programming and microcontrollers are two big topics, practically continental in size, and like continents, are easy to get lost in. Combining the two is a little like traipsing from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. Chances are you’ll get totally lost and if the natives don’t eat you, your infected blisters will make you want to sit and pout. I’ve been down this road so much that I probably have my own personal rut etched in the metaphorical soil, and I can point to all the sharp rocks I’ve stepped on, all the branches that have whacked me in the face, and the bushes from which the predators leapt. If you get the image of a raggedy bum stumbling through the jungle, you’ve got me right.

Consider this book a combination roadmap, guidebook, and emergency first aid kit for your journey into this fascinating, but sometimes dangerous world. I highly recommend that you get the book, ‘The C Programming Language – second edition’ by Kernighan and Ritchie, here after referred to as K&R. Dennis Ritchie, Figure 1, wrote C, and his book is the definitive source on all things C. I have chosen to follow that book’s organization in this book’s structure. The main difference is that their book is machine independent and gives lots of examples based on manipulating text, while this book is machine dependent, specifically based on the AVR microcontroller, and the examples are as microcontroller oriented as I can make them.

SQL: The Complete Reference

SQL: The Complete ReferenceMcGraw-Hill || ISBN 0-07-211845-8 || Author: James R. Groff and Paul N. Weinberg || English || PDF || 689 Pages || Size: 4.35 MB

Preface

SQL: The Complete Reference provides a comprehensive, in-depth treatment of the SQL language for both technical and non-technical users, programmers, data processing professionals, and managers who want to understand the impact of SQL in the computer market.

This book offers a conceptual framework for understanding and using SQL, describes the history of SQL and SQL standards, and explains the role of SQL in the computer industry today. It will show you, step-by-step, how to use SQL features, with many illustrations and realistic examples to clarify SQL concepts. The book alsocompares SQL products from leading DBMS vendors ? describing their advantages, benefits, and trade-offs ? to help you select the right product for your application. The accompanying CD contains actual trial versions of five leading SQL databases, so you can try them for yourself and gain actual experience in using major database products from Oracle, Microsoft, Sybase, Informix, an IBM.

In some of the chapters in this book, the subject atter is explored at two different levels— a fundamental description of the topic, and an advanced discussion intended for computer professionals who need to understand some of the "internals" behind SQL. The more advanced information is covered in sections marked with an asterisk (*). You do not need to read these sections to obtain an understanding of what SQL is and what it does.
